This article confuses Shitala a lot with Mariamman and the general concept of the village goddess. Removing undue stuff related to the both. --RedtigerxyzTalk 14:04, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you seriously think that Wikipedia articles should have section named Story? The content which was added by IP address was reluctant and it was already included in the section symbolism and iconography. Then is there any need of adding 1000 word story in encyclopaedic article?—Harshil want to talk? 11:49, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
User:Harshil169 You can propose another heading for the subsection named story if that irks you. which IP added that ? diff ? --DBigXrayᗙ 11:53, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is OK to add a 'story section' in Wikipedia article of mythology. We use 'Legend' instead of 'Story'. Thanks. --Gazal world (talk) 13:16, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Gazal world: but what about the content which is already provided in the section iconography and symbolism? The same content has been summarised in that section. In my humble opinion, the information given here is reluctant due to three reasons: unsourced, repeatitive, too lengthy for wikipedia article. --Harshil want to talk? 13:36, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And yes, @DBigXray: you have added the material. Now, burden of proof is on you. Prove it, otherwise, unsourced content can be removed as per WP:Verifiability policy. If proper citations will not be added then it will be removed.--Harshil want to talk? 13:39, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Harshil169, Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia:Citation needed. I have added the tags so as to allow the page watchers to work to improve this. Per Gazal world's suggestion, I have renamed the section to Legend. --DBigXrayᗙ 07:55, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I propose that the article be renamed as, "Sheetala" in order to standardise the spelling. If you agree, please make your consent known below so that we can act on this change. Chronikhiles (talk) 05:44, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
