The End of Punk Rock[edit]

I remember an Australian critic wrote that Shot by Both Sides was about the death of punk rock. Eligius (talk) 04:03, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two Versions?[edit]

Does anyone know what the deal is with the two versions of the song? The version on Rhino's "No Thanks" box is clearly a different version (much more raw and punk-sounding) than the one more commonly heard (on, for instance, Rhino's "DIY" series or the A&M best-of). I suspect that the more raw version is the original single release, whereas the more polished version is a newer (or, at the very least, radically remixed) version from the "Real Life" LP. But, I don't know. Randy's Rodeo (talk) 21:14, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. The raw punk version was released as a single. The more polished, Roxy Music-style version is from the Magazine Real Life album. Eligius (talk) 12:18, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
