A modern account that balances the two ancient sources, set in context, with full citations in the Notes, is Robin Lane Fox, Alexander the Great, 1973, pp 134-40. It does not make the error of introducing the oracle of Zeus Ammon, which lay in the future.--Wetman (talk) 06:56, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
