The following sentence is grammatically nonsensical, but I am unable to correct it because the author's meaning is unclear. " Probably Dante knew of him only from the chronicler than as a persecuted philosopher." Does the author mean "rather than as..." or "knew of him only from the chronicler as a persecuted philosopher..."???? This sentence needs grammatical correction by its author!!!
