non-English titles[edit]

"Foreign-language adaptations have often based their titles on some variation of "The Werewolf of Tarker's Mill" instead of "Silver Bullet"."

I checked IMDB, and the only language that seems to follow that is German. In fact, all other titles seem to be "Silver Bullet", as far as I can tell. TomorrowTime (talk) 07:49, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The film was made for an estimated $7,000,000, earned $5,400,000 in the U.S. market and nearly $13,000,000 internationally.

It was filmed between October 1984 and December 1984. It was released in the U.S. on October 11, 1985.

The film was shot in Burgaw and Wilmington, North Carolina.

The UK DVD release of the film in 2001 contains the original movie trailer and spoken commentary by director Daniel Attias, both of which are unavailable on any other officially released DVD, including the US edition which was released on May 28, 2002.

Foreign-language adaptations have often based their titles on some variation of "The Werewolf of Tarker's Mill" instead of "Silver Bullet".

The werewolf was designed and created by special effects expert Carlo Rambaldi. (Conan the Destroyer, E.T., King Kong, Alien.)

- The "trike" was built with a motorcycle front end, probably a Honda CR85 of the period, as well as a two-stroke dirt bike engine - probably taken from the same bike. As were the rear wheels, which were actually the front wheels of a 100 or 125cc bike of the period.

- The "rake" angle of the front forks was so steep, the trike would have been extremely dangerous to ride in real life. In motorcycle jargon, it would be called "twitchy". Yet, as we see n the movie, someone actually rode it, apparently a young Corey Haim. In one scene, the bike can be seen quickly veering to the right and almost crashing.

- Gary Busey's character gave the kid the trike, and let him ride off without any real lessons or a helmet. Oddly, only 4 years later, Gary Busey would be seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, suffering head trauma due to not wearing a helmet. 98.194.39.86 (talk) 04:40, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
