Dead[edit]

Its just been announced on the radio that Pegg was killed in a car crash outside london earlier tonight. I imagine there will be a news link by morning.

I've removed the claim that Pegg died in January 2006. He didn't, and it seems slightly suspicious that this false information snuck in there

On March 29th, 2012 Simon Pegg was on the Conan O'Brien show. While on the show he urged his fans to log on to the following website "Lego Cuusoo" (direct link http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/7451) and give their support for a Lego product based on the Winchester from Shaun of the Dead.

Fan site as external link[edit]

Why is a fansite listed as an external link for this article? If it's okay for that fansite to be listed, why not list all of them? I feel like external links should be official somehow. Well so far as I know, Peggster.net is the only fansite that Simon Pegg has formally aknowledged and given a sort-called "thumbs up". He even does interviews for the site... I dont think he has his own website, so this is probably as "official" as you´re gonna get.

Justifications?[edit]

The article describes him as a philanthropist, but offers not a single bit of evidence. Either the claim needs to be removed or it needs substantiating.

I'm no expert on the fellah, but surely

This article should comment on his long running association with Jessica Stevenson.

And it should also mention the rather brilliant series 'Asylum' which he starred in alongside Stevenson, Adam Bloom, Paul Tomkinson, and others. It's a much better prog than 'Hippies' and more worthy of note than his bried Land of the Dead cameo.

A proper Pegg fan should put this page right dammit!

Yep. That's the problem with the way some editors are enforcing the fair use policy. Hot Fuzz[edit]

Runner[edit]

I've noticed that Simon seems to do alot of running is his movies and his new movie is called "Run Fat Boy Run". Is he or was he at any point a runner or fitness freak, could we add this to his article? Harry Potter[edit]

I've removed the following paragraph:

It was reported that Pegg wished to join the cast of the Harry Potter film franchise. It is rumoured that he is in the frame to play Bill Weasley, with the character due to make his debut appearance in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

This is presented as a vague, unsourced rumor. If an interview with Pegg has been published in which he has said "I'd love to be in Harry Potter", then we can cite that interview. If the casting crew of any of the Harry Potter productions to date, or still in the planning stage, has publicly mentioned his name in connection with a character, then we can also use that. The Boys[edit]

Why is it that every time I make put up information about Pegg's involvement with The Boys in the opening it gets deleted. His likeness was used, he became a fan, and he wrote the intro for the first bound volume. Original surname[edit]

I notice that his birth name Beckingham is also Anne Dudley's birth name (he adopted a stage name, she changed hers on marriage). It's quite an unusual surname, are they by any chance related? -88.109.207.171 (talk) 22:02, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Finsbury Park[edit]

The article says that Pegg lives in Finsbury Park, "where Shaun Of The Dead was also filmed". I seem to remember from watching the Shaun DVD that the movie was filmed in Finchley (the shop where Shaun works and Shaun's parents' house), Crouch End (Shaun, Pete and Ed's house) and New Cross (the Winchester), and a few other locations near these. Citation for Victory at Bristol[edit]

I found a source with a picture that is supposed to be of Pegg in Victory when he was at Bristol. I don't know anything about the source though, and I can't really tell if it's Pegg in the photo (his head is down). This article says that Simon Pegg wrote the screenplay for "Run Fatboy Run" with Dylan Moran, but Moran didn't work on the screenplay. It was written by Michael Ian Black with Simon Pegg as a co-writer.

Name of Simon's secondary school is wrong[edit]

Simon did not go to Millbrook Academy as it did not exist at the time he was a student. Millbrook Academy is the new name for the school that he did go to which is Brockworth School. Birthplace[edit]

The cited source for his purported birthplace, The Telegraph, did not even MENTION Brockworth. All that's confirmed so far is that he was raised there, as per newly added cite from The Guardian. Imaginary blockbuster[edit]

"Upon completion of Shaun of the Dead, Pegg was questioned as to whether he would be abandoning the British film industry for bigger and better things, and he replied, "It's not like I'm going to run off and do Mission: Impossible III!", picking the title of an imaginary blockbuster."

Considering Shaun of the dead was released in 2004 and Mission Impossible 3 started production in 2002, it seems quite likely Pegg was not only aware of the movie, but he was probably in negotiation to be in it. Change in life and career[edit]

It seems like from his recent interview he has completed his transformation from comedian to action star as well as from nerd to something else (maybe angry boomer?).

His recent comments: “This culture of infantilised adulthood, all these grown-ass men arguing about fucking superheroes online, and meanwhile the world is falling apart in so many different ways,” he says. “And that’s why we will all go to hell. Because no one will grow the fuck up any more. Everybody’s so plugged into being a child, you know?”
