  • The full hook review is to follow, but is there any other possible hook option for this article? A song charting at 52 doesn't really seem that impressive, and even more so to people unfamiliar with the artist. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:49, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm currently working on User:Launchballer/Dianne Lee, I'm aiming for something like "... that Dianne Lee has played Cinderella in Cinderella and Sinderella". Alternatively, "that Jim Davidson conceived Sinderella in front of Charlie Drake or "that Sinderella is "a rotten pumpkin", but I'll take a further look when I'm done with that article.--Launchballer 10:19, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've published Lee's article, but I've found something else more interesting for that. For this, I suggest
ALT1: ... that Jim Davidson's Sinderella featured a flatulent Fairy Godmother?
ALT2: ... that Jim Davidson split up with his fourth wife after having an affair with his Sinderella co-star?
ALT3: ... that the original cast of the adult pantomime Sinderella had all reprised their roles from civilised versions of the play?
ALT4: ... that the adult pantomime Sinderella featured Charlie Drake as Baron Hardon?
ALT5: ... that Jim Davidson has had both a patois cover of "White Christmas" and a sexually explicit derivative of Cinderella reach No. 52 in UK charts?
ALT6: ... that the plot of the 2015 play Sinderella 2: A Scottish Romp focused on Sinderella's inability to attend a ball to meet "Bonnie Prince Long Cock" on the grounds that she was menstruating?
Narutolovehinata5: Take your pick. ALT5 could work very well as a Christmas hook.--Launchballer 12:28, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My preference is ALT1. ALT2 might be a BLP violation and the other hooks seem niche, other than ALT5 which is still fine but I think doesn't have the unusualness or catchiness of ALT1. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:11, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ALT2 is sourced to Chortle, which seems to have an editor and staff.--Launchballer 16:34, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring more to the content of the hook itself rather than the sourcing. Highlighting someone's affair on DYK doesn't seem like a very good idea. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:29, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • As for the review, the article meets requirements and a QPQ has been found. Among the options, I'm not a fan of ALT2 due to BLP concerns, ALT1 and ALT6 might technically be in-universe although I think ALT1 squeaks by as it's not from a plot section (it's from a sourced part and is referenced from The Independent) and I think it squeaks by since it can be said to be about a performance, unlike ALT6 which is really more plot-based. The other hooks seem to be somewhat more niche or require specialist knowledge. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:46, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
