Missing Race[edit]

Rather annoying. I am missing a race from Sir Visto's four-year-old season. Guessing at something early in the year. A Golden Pig to anyone who can find it. Tigerboy1966 (talk) 02:03, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He ran in the 28 October 1896 Cambridgeshire Handicap where he finished 12th out of a field of 24 [1]. Froggerlaura (talk) 04:46, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Poor old Sir Visto, never the same after they "bottomed" him in the Leger in my WP:OR opinion. Here's a Golden Pig.

Film still caption[edit]

I have captioned the pic with "Sir Visto is the horse exiting the bottom left of the frame", even though the first two horses look to be v close (certainly less than 3/4 of a length. Reasons: 1) the sources make it clear that Sir Visto made his run on the outside (stands side) 2) relative size of horse & jockey- Loates was a v small, lightweight jock. Curzon must be the horse on the rail and Kirkconnel the slightly obscured horse just behind Tigerboy1966 (talk) 10:55, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

I like the way the picture backs up the description in the text. He was certainly no oil painting. Still, "handsome is as handsome does." Tigerboy1966 (talk) 01:55, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
