Sirius XM PopsSiriusXM Pops – Article revert Zacharycook597 (talk) 00:57, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, pending a more thorough explanation of why we should do this. "Article revert" is not an accurate summary of the situation here — the article has been located at the version with the space between Sirius and XM since 2008, when it was moved from just "XM Pops" concurrently with the Sirius/XM merger, and the only time it was ever at the version without the space was a very brief attempt by you to cut and paste it a few months ago, which was reverted within minutes because cutting and pasting is never an appropriate way to change an article's title. So this is not a "restoring the page's original title" situation — you're proposing a new title for it, not reimplementing an existing one. Accordingly, I'm willing to listen and consider a solid rationale as to why we should move the page to a new title, but the rationale provided here is deceptive and inaccurate.
Furthermore, at Talk:SiriusXM Love you proposed the exact opposite move, to restore the space between Sirius and XM to an article whose current title doesn't have it — and while there's obviously a consistency problem among Sirius XM channels that needs to be reviewed and addressed, proposing contradictory moves in opposite directions on different channels is not an effective way to address it. I'm initiating a centralized discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Radio Stations to get this looked at, so please just hold your jumpy horses. Bearcat (talk) 17:02, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
