FPS or TPS[edit]

It says it is a upcoming first person shooter and in the genre box its says thirdperson.

I'm pretty sure it's FPSPAPO-1990 (talk) 23:02, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is a third-person shooter. This has been known ever since announcement, plus gameplay videos and trailers exist showing that it takes place from the third-person perspective. (DSP1) —Preceding unsigned comment added by DarkSpaceProductions (talkcontribs) 23:48, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First Iraq War game?[edit]

“it is slated to be the first video game to focus directly on the Iraq War.” — There is a game literally named “Iraq War” released in August 2021. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1709630/Iraq_War/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.149.142.37 (talk) 03:19, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Survival Horror?[edit]

To say a game as a survival horror based on its "unpredictability" in which the aim is to realistically simulate combat is a bit of a stretch. Then you might as well go saying games such as Resistance 2, Call of Duty: World at War, and Halo 3 are all surivival horror games. While the genre itself is pretty loose, it would be better fitting to say it just as a tactical shooter. --LCoolo 16:01, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

LCoolo, I am just going off what I've read, and multiple sources on the internet have been consistent with the game being under the survival horror category. The type of horror depicted in Fallujah is focusing on the horrors of a real-life war in the worst current battle in history.Dibol (talk) 11:28, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree with LCoolo it's not really survival horror, tactical shooter is definitely more appropriatePAPO-1990 (talk) 23:05, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, it deals with the horrors of war, not horror in the traditional sense.Dibol (talk) 06:18, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Konami as publisher[edit]

After receiving complaints, Konami has now decided not to publish this game. This was after the announcement of next year's game line-up. --staka.talk 21:43, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to edit this page, but I only am good at minor edits[edit]

It is confirmed that this game been abandoned. May somebody help me edit this?

The publisher has only dropped it. Maybe some other publisher might pick it up. --SkyWalker (talk) 09:09, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikinews says it will not be made[edit]

Controversy[edit]

"Considering the enormous loss of life in the Iraq War, glorifying it in a video game demonstrates very poor judgement and bad taste... These horrific events should be confined to the annals of history, not trivialized and rendered for thrill-seekers to play out..." --Reg Keys
Yes, this is why World War II is not an usual theme in fiction; no sane company would dare publish any video game set in that period. Oh wait... --Kitsune Inari (talk) 21:05, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Are there no US groups opposing this? Seems odd that the only negative response cited in this article are from British groups and people, considering the subject of the game relates primarily to events where the US Marines were the primary participants. 76.25.139.167 (talk) 08:02, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently not, or at least not any worthy of mention on the page. Ironically, Medal of Honor also received most of its criticism from UK groups (aside from a single American woman, the mother of a fallen Soldier who gave his life in Iraq, that went on a rampage of a campaign against it), while Call of Duty has received very little criticism (even the infamous "No Russian" scenario in MW2 where you actually take part in a terrorist attack as an undercover CIA agent and gun down hundreds of unarmed civilians, didn't seem to get as much criticism as Six Days and MoH have). If you ask me, they've been bitten by the Call of Duty bug and the criticism stems from the fact that both Six Days and MoH focus on the US military instead of "going international" (among the most prominent complaints about MoH was the so-called "recreation of acts of the Taliban against British soldiers", none of which even appear in the game... nowhere was there any mention of US soldiers!). Essentially, I don't think they liked that US Special Operations was taking center stage this time instead of being an afterthought behind their SAS like Call of Duty has done.
Personally, I feel, and I know this will sound strange but, the lack of any US opposition groups noted in the controversies sections of either game hints at a bit of an anti-American POV here. Spartan198 (talk) 09:46, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's sad that an American game about American marines has been derailed because of the complaints of a couple of random Brits. I guess we're still a colony at heart. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.131.155.123 (talk) 18:00, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"local civilian survivor of the Iraq War, Najla Bassim Abdulelah, argued that [...] the very act of adapting a real-life battle into a video game would trivialize it as a form of entertainment"
I wonder if said local survivor cares about all the real WW2 (and not only) battles represented in video games, including the much, much bloodier Stalingrad. No, of course not. People only get "offended" when it involves them. Clear POV and anti-western bias here. 178.37.145.183 (talk) 16:56, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Overquoting[edit]

@Dibol and anyone else watching this article, I'm trying to resolve the cleanup tag. Would you be able to replace the quotes with paraphrased content? The chains of excessive quoting get to be a copyright issue. Anything they say that can be explained in our own words (free use text) should be. czar 13:53, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
