New Name Change[edit]

This page is in the process of being renamed to Company Roads, the new official name of the suburb in English, officially renamed by the Sri Lankan government in 2023. Draft proposal submitted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Entryothrr (talkcontribs) 08:08, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Due to common name policy in Wikipedia, this page will remain under a compromise and transition phase for now. Despite it being under the wishes of the government, the community itself and local diplomatic missions to overcome painful colonial historic legacy and stigma. It is also for social justice and reconciliation. It relates to post-colonial identity. It also implies a shift in urban transformation and modernisation. Further sources and data will be awaited.Entryothrr (talk) 20:58, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tamil Name[edit]

We are looking for the Tamil name for Slave Island for inclusion in this article. The Sinhalese name is Kompanna Veediya, if it is the same, let us know in this talk page and we can transcribe it into Tamil text.

Someone already added. --A-wiki-guest-user (talk) 14:44, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
