I don't believe all species of Sole have both eyes on one side and swim with the blind side facing downward. --DelftUser 19:35, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I invite you to take it up with fishbase], where they say "Both eyes on the right side of the head" with no qualifiers like "most". Stan 21:18, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed any taxonomist will tell you that one of the diagnostic characters of all flatfishes, not just sole spp., is having both eyes on one side of the head. The book to look at is the recent flatfish book by R. Gibson (Flatfishes: Biology and Exploitation, published by Blackwell).Celticbattlepants 21:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Linkrot on Reference[edit]

I notice that the link in reference [4] to an article in a journal now goes to a different issue of the journal in question. However, websearching the title of the article readily finds copies of it on various other websites. I leave it to someone with more wikicite-fu to decide which of these is most appropriate and to make the appropriate amendment. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.122.2.158 (talk)
