Indeed any taxonomist will tell you that one of the diagnostic characters of all flatfishes, not just sole spp., is having both eyes on one side of the head. The book to look at is the recent flatfish book by R. Gibson (Flatfishes: Biology and Exploitation, published by Blackwell).Celticbattlepants 21:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
