REQUESTED EDITS TO CORRECT FACTUAL INACCURACIES AND HOLES[edit]

Hi reviewers, requesting a few updates to Sonia's page. Just to make it abundantly clear, I work for Gap Inc. and have a COI.

Info Panel: update Sonia's title to "CEO, Gap Inc." [1]

Summary Section:

  1. Update first sentence to: "Sonia Syngal is CEO of Gap Inc., which operates seven brands: Old Navy, Athleta, Gap, Banana Republic, Intermix, Janie & Jack, and Hill City. [2]
  2. Consider updating second sentence to: "In February 2019, it was announced that Old Navy would spin off from the organization to become a standalone public company. [3]. In 2020, Gap Inc. cancelled plans to spin off Old Navy [4] and named Sonia Syngal as the new CEO[5], and with that, Syngal joined a small group of female CEOs in the Fortune 500.[6]
  3. Consider moving third sentence about net worth to Personal Life section where it seems more relevant.
  4. Remove 4th sentence since it would be redundant if the 2nd edit in this section is accepted.

Career Section: Add a sentence: In March 2020, Syngal was named CEO of Gap Inc.[7]

check Partially implemented: A part of your edit request was added to the article. Some of your other edits are much better suited for the Gap Inc., or better yet, Gap Inc.#History. Donna Spencertalk-to-me 17:25, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DonSpencer1: - thank you for your review and edits. There are still two factual inaccuracies on the page:

  • First sentence: Sonia is the CEO of Gap Inc. - which includes Gap, Old Navy, Athleta, Banana Republic, Hill City, Intermix, and Janie and Jack.
  • Info box: it still lists Sonia as the CEO of Old Navy, not Gap Inc.

Also, for consideration, may be worth adding a sentence to the "Career" section since reading that alone you may think she's still the Old Navy CEO. Something along the lines of, "In March 2020, Syngal was named CEO of Gap Inc.[1]"

Thanks again for your review. Benzeeful (talk) 21:24, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

check Partially implemented: Updated infobox & career section. The lead sentence links to GAP which in and of itself details the portfolio of businesses so not necessary to have them listed separately. Thanks. Donna Spencertalk-to-me 21:29, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DonSpencer1: In the lead sentence, is it possible to update the hyperlinked text from "GAP" to "Gap Inc."? Sonia is the CEO of Gap Inc., not Gap, so it's not factually accurate as it's currently written. Benzeeful (talk) 20:00, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Implemented The change has been made. Donna Spencertalk-to-me 17:35, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Birth Year[edit]

According to recent interview from "Times of India", Sonia Syngal is 49 years old. The interview was published on March 7,2020. So, can we add 1971 as her birth year? VincentGod11 (talk) 11:00, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
