Release

Wasn't it said that the game would be coming out in Fall in NA? It says TBA. I'm pretty sure NP said it's coming out in fall. EX. Sep.-Nov. I'm hoping for that Sep.2 date. The pink stuff is just bad graphics. They actaully outlines her whole body in pink, and the pink you are talking about is the outline of her eyelashes. I was looking at sonic in that pic again, and his arms are entirely too short and he looks fatter. Has he been piggin out since he beat eggman???? Could you provide a link? I can't find it. Official or final boxart is appropriate, failing that an image that's representative of the title (i.e with the actual title in it, see the temporary image used at Sonic Unleashed) would do. You see that little picture of Earth at the top of the edit window, you click on that to get it started, once you click on it new words will be highlighted in blue. Now you know what a tab is? "Characters mentioned by others"

Why is their such a disagreement about this? This is the only thing I agree with about Mr. IP-Address's rant. He hasn't been confirmed to appear. He has only been mentioned by one character. We know Eggman, Shade, and the Zoah are showing up. I say this is the best way we can satisfy all parties. He's still in the article but he's not confirmed to appear. Any other thoughts? I see where you're coming from with that rumors statement...however it's not like he was a rumor to begin with, he has been mentioned...when we see some visual confirmation of his existence we'll put him in the regular section. As an aside, I have put in references for all those characters that could be found within reach of the nearest IGN article I could find. I've gone ahead and done the task of editing the article, going through all the references to try and find the information stated, despite not actually having read anything about this game. In future, if you're going to add information, sourcing it as you go along would save an editor who, like me, is not acquainted with the subject matter from having to take a long period of time to find all the appropriate refs to add. Reverting any additions without sources is one way to keep it under control and I'd highly recommend it for this article in future. I know it's fun to be the first to put in new bits of information, but if it's not sourced, it's not encyclopedic, which is what this article has to be for Wikipedia at the end of the day.

I have taken out anything I could not find a solid reference for amongst reliable sources. If you feel that information is important, and you have a source (such as the oft-mentioned Nintendo magazines, which I do not own and cannot use as a reference), then please do place it in - with reference, obviously. Alternatively if, like SLJCOAAATR 1 has mentioned, you find citing difficult, just leave the information on the talk page with appropriate details so we can add it in for you. For reliable gaming sites or official information, the URL is suitable, and for magazines, this includes the name, issue and page numbers, and article title and author. Many thanks. Nintendo Power v230

NP recently did an update on the game, but there wasn't any new info we already don't know. They release date wasn't exact, it only said Q3 2008. There was also that infamous Dexter screenshot, and Sonic's arm was STILL blue. I wanna get this settled now. Alright, a while back, the game was given 9/5/08 release. Recently, that became Fall 08, and multiple sites are now claiming 9/30/08. So, which is the CORRECT release? I requested semi-protection for this article since it is getting out of hand, and it has now been semi-protected for a period of one week. Since the Dexter character has given rise to so many conflicts, I suggest we leave it out altogether until something more reliable concerning his appearance - or lack, or playability thereof - arises. With regards to release dates, I politely request some reliable sources for the given release dates in the infobox. Check the history; quite often it's someone putting in "info" whilst either not putting a reference, editing the text to add false information which isn't in the reference next to it, or duplicating a reference tag to make it look like it's sourced. Woah. Let's not start a fight here. Now Bean, Wiki has some standards, some of which is that, we can't cite anything that comes from a fansite (TSS in this case.). While this site could come from a very reliable source (Say, a game mag.) but, only a fansite has the article posted, we can't us it, unless a "Reliable (Or offical)" site gives the "Yup. It's real." type of thing. We also can't cite boards. (Say, i find a bit of info through hacking a site, and can only post it on the IGN boards, we can't us it.) We also can't trust word of mouth, or just "Trust me, i know for a FACT." We need some absolute 100% SOLID AS HELL proof. These were

1. Hacks from a site.
2. From a fansite.
3. From boards.
4. Pretty much just "Trust me, i KNOW" kinda stuff...

FAKE article

The source citing Dexter as playable is false and is said as much by not only the writer of the comic adapation for Archie (Ian Potto) but also the artist (Jon Gray). PLEASE remove that article and any association to him being playable, it's fake. 03:16, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

I know this point has now long been beaten to death, but I just need to clarify again why your two points wouldn't be suitable for the article: the ref needs to actually say that he will be in the game, not just hint at it, and with regards to that quote, yes, we had this huge discussion up there ^ - it was only today that somebody actually found where it came from so that we could cite it. Without that cite, it couldn't go in the article. From what i know, wealways wait untill we know for a 100% fact. Remember Omega always has a different VA? Could happen again. 4KIDS might not even do the VAing. The cvgproj template at the top of the talkpage has screenshot=yes as a flag, meaning it gets categorised as an article that someone has labelled as needing a screenshot. I happen to agree, as it would be nice to see some examples of Sonic-based RPG gameplay (we could, logically, put it in the Gameplay section which is heavy on text when a picture might help clarify). Are the screens out now likely to change before release, and if not, what would you think best represents the style of gameplay out of the screens in circulation which we could use? If you're talking about the backpedal to do with Dexter, do as the IP editor says and check the original source - it's written in there, with Dexter crossed out and the editor's note (as copy/pasted by the IP editor) afterwards. Thought I'd let you guys know that there could be some incoming vandalism. If you've watched Sonic X you'll remember that Cosmo was supposedly killed at the end of the show's run. All that was left of her was a seed that Tails planted in a little pot. But rumors are going about because of a released screenshot that Cosmo could be appearing or make a cameo. This is the source. Just to let people know, in the release dates it shows the NA release date as fall, and the EU release date as April. The two mean the same thing, but in British English it's known as Autumn, whereas in American English it's Fall. Story

According to the official site, the story begins when Eggman tries to launch a new Egg Carrier from Mobotropolis and Sonic, his friends, and G.U.N., plan an attack on him. The Carrier crashes with Eggman aboard, Mobotropolis is in flames, all of Eggman's machines, robots are destroyed and Eggman is, and I quote "Presumed dead". Then it says They all seperate to explore the world, while Sonic is exploring the world, Tails and Knuckles are mapping the Mystic Ruins. Then the part where Sonic gets the call from Tails saying "There's trouble in Central City, and Knuckles needs help" Do you think we should add this to the article?
