Lime[edit]

No, it is correct. There is no citrus in corn masa, the lime, or cal as it's called in Spanish, is used to break down the kernels. See Nixtamalization. Danfeder (talk) 17:51, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I had them in Mexico once where my aunt made them with only refried beans and Nopalitos. Of course the slimy texture of the Nopalitos was rather daunting. But it was good nevertheless.
