An interesting new section.[edit]

First Meeting in 1906, can this be considered a South London Derby match as Millwall were not based in South London at this point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GazzaLDN (talkcontribs) 11:02, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is true, I don't know if I should put a note to reflect Millwall weren't yet a South London team or change it. The first true South London derby is 19 November 1910 at The Den. BillyBatty (talk) 11:21, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Correction on that, first meeting was a Charity fund game on 31 October 1910, which was 2nd ever game at the Old Den. Added note to reflect this in the infobox of 'First meeting'. BillyBatty (talk) 11:56, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Only Senior competitive matches should be tallied in the results tables, Charity Matches and reserve leagues shouldn't count.GazzaLDN (talk) 14:42, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
yes, applied same rule as I did for Millwall vs West Ham's results. excluded all reserve, non-competitive and games played during the two world wars from results. used Millwall: The Complete History to source them all, which lists the charity fund, kent fa games as first team and competitive. are they not? don't have any further info on Palace vs Charlton's more obscure games played. no palace or charlton supporters seem bothered enough to contribute to the article. if you're the millwall history gazza, your input would be valued mate.

Woolwich Arsenal[edit]

Should Woolwich Arsenal be included prior to their move North of the River.

Also perhaps mention should be made of the 2 Croydon clubs in the introduction. GazzaLDN (talk) 11:39, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Woolwich Arsenal are mentioned in early rivalries. Do you mean all the head to head results listed? Who are the two Croydon clubs? I think any other major South London derbies should be mentioned in the early rivalries, but only current rivalries results should be listed. If and when AFC Wimbledon are promoted and playing in the same league as Palace, Millwall or Charlton their results should be added, they become more than a footnote. BillyBatty (talk) 11:56, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Croydon Athletic and Croydon Common. I think Croydon Common home was The Nest which Crystal Palace moved into when they went bust.GazzaLDN (talk) 14:39, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Crossing the Divide[edit]

Surely Ian Dowie has managed two South London Club, I think Simon Jordan's head nearly exploded when he found out he had become Charlton Manager! GazzaLDN (talk) 15:08, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

= Should AFC Wimbledon be included?[edit]

I can see a lot of work went into adding in AFC Wimbledon to the page, but I don't really consider them part of this Derby. If any 'Greater South London' can be included we will have to add Sutton United and maybe Bromley to the list.

The North London Derby is between only two North London Clubs excluding other clubs north of the River considered to be East or West London. Millwall, Charlton & Crystal Palace are South East London Post Code clubs, while Wimbledon is a South West London Post Code club, having being out of the area in Kingston for several years.

Maybe should be retitled South East London Derby.

I agree. I made this page before AFC Wimbledon were a league club and it was just the main three. I didn't much want to add them when they came up. They're not a rival to Palace, Charlton or Millwall but they're a South London team and the official sites of Millwall and Charlton have both called games with AFC Wimbledon a 'South London derby', along with the media. If Sutton get up to League One and play the Anoraks or Wombles, I guess they'll have to be included too. Same would go for Bromley if they ever became a League club. Then it would become more of a page like West London derby. It's a local derby but not a 'rivalry' if that makes sense. The only option would be to create separate wiki pages like I did for Leeds United F.C.–Millwall F.C. rivalry, such as Charlton Athletic F.C.–Millwall F.C. rivalry or Crystal Palace F.C.–Millwall F.C. rivalry. Being a Millwall fan, I couldn't be bothered to create Anoraks–Nigels rivalry. TheLostBoy (talk) 19:50, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Player List[edit]

I'm calling foul on Hubert Busby, Jr. being on this list. Never heard of him and certainly never made a first team appearance at Millwall, GazzaLDN (talk) 01:20, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
