Having lived on the South Shore I'd not just dispute but openly question the accuracy of these comments. First, I lived in Pleasant Plains, which is squarely in the "South Shore." In the article the quote "side of the island is predominantly Italian," is inaccurate. "Predominatly" means more than 50% and perhaps higher. Are there Italians on the South Shore - absolutely - but Pleasant Plains had LOTs of Irish, Russian, Polish, Hasidic Jews, Puerto Ricans, etc. So did Tottenville and Princess Bay and the other communities that make up the South shore. By NO stretch is this community a MAJORITY of Italians. The article points to the shopping and swimming trends of south shore people - what does this have to do with an encyclopedia article? How did the source measure this? Why didn't they quote/measure where most of these people work? How do they get to work (drive? SIRT?, etc.). The whole input/entry seems to be based on a series of social observations by a single individual that were molded to fit an opinion of a specific event. Certainly it is not an accurate portrayal of an encyclopedia entry for the south shore of Staten Island!

Any comments? - DutchTreat (talk) 12:26, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Great Kills Park is not part of SI03. I propose that it should be included as part of the map. See this area as: SI9593 - DutchTreat (talk) 13:00, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Added Great Kills Park to map above - DutchTreat (talk) 13:37, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
