Awesome! Thanks a ton, looks like translating may be a bad idea late at night. Re: the interwiki links, all of those, except for the español one link to articles about the French maquis, which is why I left them out. BUT, I'm not really sure if that's necessary or not. Oops. Then kill them. I just presumed that if we'd linked to the es article and it linked to a bunch of others, then this should link to those. Image issue[edit]

Image:GraffitiMaquis.jpg comes from Commons, but it is very unlikely to be legitimately GFDL, because it is presumably a photograph of someone's artistic work other than its creator's. Right now, the "check links" feature on Commons is broken, so I can't tell where else it is used, but I strongly recommend that a copy be pulled into the English-language Wikipedia with no GFDL claim, and instead a clear justification for the non-free use. - Jmabel | Talk 18:40, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Agrupacion de Guerrilleros.jpg[edit]

Image:Agrupacion de Guerrilleros.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Rename - suggestion[edit]

Rename to Armed resistance in Spain (1939–1975) and add informations about MIL, Defensa Interior, First of May Group, ETA, GARI, FRAP and another anti-francoist armed groups.

"Spanish Maquis" is already enough of a departure to what they were called locally, to rename them something as impersonal as "Armed Resistance". In fact, that feels like it would be it's own article that'd include these maquis and any other hypothetical resistance groups. If anything, this article should be renamed, much like Maquis (World War II) and Maquis (Star Trek), into Maquis (Spain) or similar/better. 78.30.22.241 (talk) 23:52, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wording[edit]

"The outbreak of World War II so soon after the civil war surprised a large part of the Spanish Republican exiles in France" Surprised them? I'd recommend rewriting that, considering republicans were hoping for WWII to break out before the war ended.
