Hey all[edit]

My recent edits have been designed to make the page much more general than it previously was. That said each section now will need a lot of work.

The history: I would like to make this more comprehensive. Hopefully this will become a list with the important conceptual contributions made by each field organized as sub lists.

Fundamental issues: This also needs a reorganization, synching with the related topic elsewhere on the paedia and a whole bunch of references.

Techniques: This is the holy grail: to come up with a good characterization of the technqiues. I personally do the following:

non-spatial vs. spatial then

- qualtiative (Verbal) vs. quantiative then

- - evaluative versus modelling then

- - - both split by atemporal/temporal, by spatial only/ with attribute, and by spatial dimension

with 'evaluative' being where statistical analyses live, 'spatial' being of the geometry and therefore split by dimension of the geometry. This will all make more sense with an eventual diagram.

Perhaps you would like to look at the Geostatistics article. There are many things that need to be added there, and it could be a good compliment to this page. SCmurky 03:47, 15 February 2007 (UTC)==Geo-space== A user recently edited this article to replace every instance of geo-space and geospatial, declaring them "neologisms".
