GA Review[edit]

Reviewer: HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:45, 4 April 2010 (UTC) This is obviously a very good quality article and I'm happy that it meets the criteria, especially since all your external links are in perfect working order and the image has a strong fair use rationale. The only issues I would raise, however, are:[reply]

  • The lack of an audio clip
I do not know how to upload an audio sample, do you know anyone who I can ask to do it for me? Thanks, Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 23:18, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
User:Liquidluck said that an audio sample is not required for a GA, so would you be able to pass this article without the audio sample? Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 00:40, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a requirement, but it would be nice to have if you can get hold of one. I didn't mean to imply that I wouldn't pass it until it had one, and since that's the only unresolved issue, I'm happy to list it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:57, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • there needs to be consistency in the references:
    • Publishers and works should either all be linked are all delinked
Done. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 23:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I doubt the LA Times publishes itself
Fixed. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 23:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ref #10 needs the original publisher
Done. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 23:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Once those are addressed, I should be able to pass this. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:45, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SuperSonicBaby2 (talk) 15:45, 11 October 2011 (UTC) I also think there should be an audio clip, especially for people who have no idea what the song is. Just saying. I think that would be great.[reply]

Dead external links to Allmusic website – January 2011[edit]

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

GA Reassessment[edit]

This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Speed Demon (song)/GA2. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

I feel that this article fails 1a, 2b and possibly 3a. The article is poorly written (for example repetition of "the song"), includes grammatical mistakes and uses colloquial language. Not enough in-line citations and two dead links. The references are rather weak. Books are not used at all, suggesting that the article is not comprehensive and not well-researched.--Tomcat (7) 18:13, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Promo single[edit]

@SummerPhDv2.0:@Binksternet:@Ss112: hello, @TrackerMercurial136: and I are risk of starting an edit war. He/she considers promotional singles and official singles the same thing, so he/she adds chronology of official singles in this page and adds this song in Bad's infobox even if it's considered a promotional single. I've never seen promotional singles and official singles being treated in the same way, they're usually don't share the same chronology and only official singles are usually added in the infoboxes of their albums. However, I couldn't find in the wikiproject rules for dealing with promo singles. I would like to know your opinion. Thanks. Blueberry72 (talk) 16:55, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Blueberry72: Yes, we don't put promotional singles in a chronology with full commercial singles. TrackerMercurial136, you seem relatively new here. It's not Blueberry72's personal belief that we don't put promotional singles in the same chronology, it's the way things are done all across album and song articles on Wikipedia, so Blueberry72 is only going off precedent. I think you should defer to those who are more experienced than you. Blueberry72, you might want to bring this up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Songs as well, the editors who frequent that page might give you some more input. Ss112 17:07, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Right! Promo singles are not listed in the chronology of official singles. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish, especially with lesser known or indie artists, but with the Bad album it was very clear. Binksternet (talk) 21:18, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
