NPOV and speculation[edit]

This article seems to be extremely full of speculation towards the content of the song, a link between the Matrix, etc. It was pretty heavily biased towards Marxism before I attempted to rephrase it into more neutral terms, but I'm not completely satisfied with the result. Feel free to help me make this seem more encyclopaedic. - Jacen Aratan 11:03, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi again Jacen! :)
Wikipedia is no big supporter of personal interpretations. Perhaps a source of any kind would improve the article.

Another problem with this article, is the comparison of Spiders to The Matrix. Spiders was released in 1998, before the 1999 release of the matrix. Any possible parallels are superficial at best. Further, the liner notes in the Album clearly state that Spiders is about government control and it's heavy handedness (especially in the form of the v-chip and other enforced monitoring). I'm adding a final paragraph that's less speculative. -- Martiansolstice--66.75.110.44 09:46, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Toxicity?[edit]

Does anyone else hear the painfully obvious similarity between this song and Toxicity? The rhythm is almost exactly the same, the only difference is the lyrics. Einstein runnerFile:RedSpiral.jpgDingdong! 23:51, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Soadspiders.jpg[edit]

Image:Soadspiders.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Metal[edit]

This article called SOAD a 'Heavy Metal' band and included a hyperlink to the heavy metal page. I changed it to just say 'metal band' because they very much are not heavy metal. IDK why people keep thinking all metal is 'heavy metal.' Heavy metal is the type that led zepelin and judas priest make, ironicaly the least "heavy" type of metal. 2A02:A468:6043:1:3125:BD3F:2FC3:C132 (talk) 15:13, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
