Meaning?[edit]

Actually, it's Heroin not acid. "Take that pearl" is a reference to injecting heroin which is pearlesent in it's ready to inject form. As a side note this is where Janis Joplin, hopelessly addicted to Heroin, took her nickname Pearl. Upon injecting the drug one would pull the plunger back just a little as to draw some blood back into the syringe (spilling the wine) before injecting into the vein (take that pearl). "Hot flames of fire roaring up my back" is the rush one experiences when the drug takes affect. The whole song is about a heroin experience.
