passage deleted, perhaps should be restored[edit]

The following passage was added by editor User:Stagnesalgoma then removed by a different editor, User:Willsome429, with edit summary indicating they thot a COI is clear. Interest by editor is clear, but COI is not clear to me. It is a quote from 1877, for gosh sake. What do u think, someone approximately 160 years old is still being promotional about their pet project and must be shut down ASAP by u? or perhaps the person is associated with the current church, but so what?

"THE NEW EPISCOPAL CHURCH - We understand that nearly enough has been subscribed to ensure the erection of the Episcopal church. It is proposed to build of brick, suitable in size and form to the anticipated needs of the community, Gothic in style, with symetrical spire, etc. Plan executed by a prominent New York architect are expected soon. The edifice when completed will be an attractive, convenient, and comfortable house of worship, and an ornament to the village. It is intended to be complete, it ready for occupancy free from debt. The title will vest in the Trustees of the diocese until a church shall be organized, when it will be held by the Wardens and Vestrymen of the church."[1]

Seems interesting, i am inclined to restore. --Doncram (talk) 06:36, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As stated on the AfD discussion for the article, I was trying to maintain the integrity of the article by protecting from potentially paid COIs. I would be amenable to a paraphrased version of the passage being re-added. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 11:46, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I just restored it in slightly modified form. Regardless of the original conflict, I assert that I have never attended St. Agnes, nor am paid by anyone who does. I take responsibility for the content now. It seems to me the previous editor was trying to avoid deletion by adding a third party reference documenting notability.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 03:16, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
