Photos[edit]

Does anybody have any pictures of the old station, which was closed in the late 60's? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.207.141.50 (talkcontribs) 13:16, 11 August 2005

Services[edit]

Which destinations did it serve? 86.176.178.94 (talk) 11:51, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aha! Most of the old G&SWR system, but of course, as with any but the smallest railway systems, there were a few routes which didn't have a service through from Glasgow, so it would be remiss of me to list, say, Kirkcudbright, without fair proof. I don't have many sources on the G&SWR at all; so I'll add a few that were dead certs (Ayr, Dumfries, Carlisle, Kilmarnock, Stranraer) which shouldn't need referencing. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:15, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article title[edit]

As a main line terminus, shouldn't this article be at Glasgow St Enoch railway station? I presume Glasgow was part of the official name? Jellyman (talk) 19:17, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not necessarily (see for example Charing Cross railway station, Euston railway station, Liverpool Street station or St Pancras railway station); when selecting article names, we attach no significance to the importance of a station, in particular, we do not invent names and only vary names (by means of disambiguators) when necessary to avoid duplication. More at WP:NCUKSTATIONS; but in short, what did the station nameboards say at the time of closure - did the word "Glasgow" appear or not? --Redrose64 (talk) 23:38, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
