Explanation for reversion to pre-vandalism page[edit]

As per pages for other villages in Thanet, this page has recently been vandalised. I suspect this may be by residents of other towns or villages in the area as Monkton has also suffered incorrect information and defamatory comments.

St. Nicholas is officially a village, not a hamlet. The recorded population was edited and halved by an unknown editor but the previously researched figure was cited.

Also, St. Nicholas has NEVER been part of Monkton/Minster. These villages are each at least three miles from each other and were seperate identities from medieval times until now. Fierce (but normally polite?!) independence may account for the vandalism. For example, Monkton is a definite seperate village but is mistakenly assumed to be part of Minster (interestingly only by the residents of Minster).

Other edits which have gone unnoticed include the alteration of 'chapel' to 'torcher chamber' (sic), and 'in Roman times the channel was naughty'. This is lower than the work of mischievous schoolchildren and should not be tolerated on Wikipedia.

I am now watching this page and welcome whoever added the semi-protection. Suggest other residents and conscientious Wikipedia editors continue to watch this page. Stnickvillager (talk) 11:05, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
