During the Holocaust, the towns of Starachowice and Wierzbnik, a town located nearby, were liquidated, and sent to the Warsaw Ghetto. - I've not seen any source of this information. I have parents and had grandparents in Starachowice and I really doubt the information is true. 83.27.98.229 (talk) 00:16, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Concentration camp[edit]
Shortly after invading Poland Germans established a concentration camp in Starachowice. The Polish prisoners from Cieszyn, Bielsko amd other places were taken there. They were brutally tortured with a leather whip bound with wire which caused running wounds leading to a high mortality rate. Mr Gustaw Morcinek, a well known Polish novelist born in Slask and Mr Polaczek from Goleszow, a Deputy to the Polish Sejm were among those imprisoned in this camp. /The Black Book of Poland. 1942 New York/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.177.2.232 (talk) 04:07, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
