Population?[edit]

  • Great job, HD1986 , now we only need an article for the State of Damascus. What was the reason for creating those states? What was the religion of the inhabitants, Sunni? Funkynusayri (talk) 19:32, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunatly I am unable of knowing whether there is a dicussion going on or not. I've only seen your comment now (although I already did the Dmascus article :).

I'll work on adding the things you mentioned.HD1986 (talk) 17:26, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article was messed up by IP 64.134.230.237[edit]

The IP 64.134.230.237 has added a huge amount of false information to the article (unsourced POV sentences) and nobody undid this. This ruined the neutrality and trustworthiness of the article, especially on the population and political reasons of creation of the state.

According to historical sources. The population of the Aleppo State and city of Aleppo were majority Sunni Arab since at least the 16th century but now it falsely states that the Christians were the majority. The Ottoman tax records recorded from the 16th century onwards show the Christian population as a minority, European estimations from the 16th century onwards also agree with this. The Armenian/Assyrian persecution of WWI are not related to this area because the indigenous Christian inhabitants of this region were mostly not affected, persecution was mostly in areas to the north and east (Anatolia and Hakkari).

The reasons to divide French Syria and create this state by the French were to divide the majority Sunni Arab inhabitants into small states without political power to resist the French but now it falsely states that it was because the Arabs were a minority and persecuting Christians.

the article must be improved, undoing the edit by 64.134.230.237 is the best way.DragonTiger23 (talk) 15:20, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
