Infobox and lede[edit]

  • "The last musical performed in 1969" → "The final musical production at the theatre closed in 1969"
  • Link "porn theatre" to Adult movie theater
  • Add at least one sentence at the end about its reopening as a Broadway venue

Design[edit]

Facade[edit]

  • "facade" is double-linked in the first two sentences
  • "The theater's design was influenced by the fact that Henry Miller's Theatre was the first Broadway theatre to be built under the 1916 Zoning Resolution." → "Henry Miller's Theatre was the first Broadway theatre to be built under the 1916 Zoning Resolution, which is reflected in its design."

Interior[edit]

  • "designed similar to" → "designed similarly to"
  • WL box office
  • What's the other subterranean theater house?
    • It is the Circle in the Square Theatre. Ironically that theatre also had a branch at Henry Miller's Theatre at one point, back when the theater house was still above ground. Unfortunately, this isn't mentioned in the sources that say the Stephen Sondheim is one of two underground theater houses, but the Circle in the Square's underground location is well documented. History[edit]

Original theater[edit]

  • Close paraphrasing with and returned to performance use as the Kit Kat Club
  • "because Miller sometimes worked with" → "because Miller had a history of working with"

Current theater[edit]

  • "to make way" → "to make room", as "to make way" was used in the sentence above
    • I actually just removed the redundancy, since it's also mentioned previously that the theater was closed for the tower's construction. Epicgenius (talk) 18:47, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • In 2007, Roundabout announced it would operate the theater as its third Broadway venue. I don't love this phrasing and can't put my finger on why. I think it feels like the sentence should end after "theater", and so the last bit seems tacked on, although I know that it's important
    • I rephrased it to "Roundabout announced in 2007 that it would operate the theater, which would become its third Broadway venue". I think the issue stems from the fact that "as its third Broadway venue" should be a modifier for "Roundabout's operation of the theater", rather than the word "theater". Epicgenius (talk) 16:27, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "with a production of a revival of" → "with a revival production of"
  • "and ran for three months" → "which ran for three months" (because you're referring to Bye Bye Birdie, not the theater)
  • No commas needed around "prior to its renaming"

Notable productions[edit]

  • Good

References[edit]

  • Good as always

General comments[edit]

  • All images are relevant and properly licensed
  • No stability issues in the revision history
  • Earwig score looks generally good at 15.3%, some close paraphrasing noted above
  • My most general comment is to make sure that the use of "theater" vs. "theatre" is consistent
    • I had used "theater" for both the theater house and the theatre operation in general, so it might be confusing. I've rephrased some of these instances. The thing that gives me pause is that in good ol' American, we should use "theater", but our article on Broadway theatre uses the British spelling. And the common name of the theater (or should it be theatre?) is the British spelling. For the time being I've changed it to "theatre", though my keyboard really wants me to change it back to "theater". Epicgenius (talk) 18:47, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comments GhostRiver. I have addressed all the issues you brought up so far, but let me know if you have more. Epicgenius (talk) 18:47, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Epicgenius Thank you for making those changes so far! I had to leave before totally finishing this review, so there are just a couple more comments to address in the lede and in the "original theatre" section. — GhostRiver 15:35, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
GhostRiver Thanks. I have done this now. Epicgenius (talk) 16:27, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
