Big O and Dukes Appearance

On March 4, 2009, Steve-O joined the hosts of the Big O and Dukes show[1], Oscar Santana and Chad Dukes, on 106.7 WJFK to promote his upcoming appearance on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. A few minutes into the interview, Dukes instructed the show's producer to "do me a favor and lean over and hit release". At that point, the line went dead. The show's hosts then explained to the listening audience that, although they appreciated Steve-O's work on Jackass, they felt that he was showing no interest in the interview. Circus job + PETA

will someone add his later regretting working for and criticizing the circus for the abuse of animals and getting involved with PETA to help? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.219.130.212 (talk) 05:17, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Demise and Rise section

The last paragraph in this section is poorly written. Can someone clean this up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.76.135.164 (talk) 08:03, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm considering deleting it due to BLP concerns. the tone was obviousley not at is given weight here. It sounded like he was trying to say that he was not doing the show for attention not the he might go back to using. We should be avoiding giving weight to certain lines and not others. I reccomend finding a secondary source that describes it.Cptnono (talk) 07:06, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Rap album/list of films

SteveO released a rap album on a major label, that should be included. And shouldn't there be a list of films/projects/music he did? (like SteveO on BlindDate) NovakFan76 (talk) 01:19, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

The informaiton should be included. A list or table would be easiest and look alright.Cptnono (talk) 02:50, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
It should also include SteveO's home videos. NovakFan76 (talk) 21:07, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

BLP violations/Over use of sub-headings

The over use of the sub-headings is very annoying. Why does three sentences or one sentence get a subheading? The article suffers from WP:UNDUE with concentration of legal issues. Why isn't there a section discussing his five seasons on TV?

1) All the legal issues should be condensed to one section. Unimportant details should be removed. For example, the "Rock the Bells controversy" is sourced for a blog and forum. These "sources" aren't WP:RS and the details violate WP:BLP. Thus, the "Rock the Bells controversy" section should be removed.
2) There should be a section on Jackass, including notable television appearances promoting Jackass TV and movies. This should also include his home DVDs.
3) There should be a WildBoyz section, including notable appearances.
4) There should be a section on rehab and post-rehab, which includes Dancing With the Stars Steve-O: Demise and Rise.

I'd edit the article and make these improvements, but the page is protected and I can't. I think the article's layout is improper compared to other wikipedia articles and at points violates BLP. NovakFan76 (talk) 21:12, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Sounds good. Go for it.Cptnono (talk) 01:22, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
I went ahead and made the changes. NovakFan76 (talk) 19:17, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Leggett Valley High School

The article states: "Steve-O graduated from Leggett Valley High School in 1992 before moving to the U.S."

There is no Leggett Valley High School in London, or in the whole of England. The only reference to a school with this name is one in California. He clearly couldn't have moved back to Britain, studied at a school with that name, then moved back to the U.S. Should I just delete this unsourced claim? please advise! --90.211.132.125 (talk) 20:00, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Trolling Comments

Steve-O, you broke the heart of common sense and good taste. Now your heart got broken too.

Irrelevant comment, how can someone make fun of a human being that could be near the verge of death. --Espazolano 04:56, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
well i am sure that it has to do with the fact that steve-o has been on the verge of death his entire career, (deleted) it just makes me sick everytime i think of how much we idolize (deleted) all steve-o and the rest are are crashtest dummys that just keep surviving. i know i'm bashing him, and i am probably breaking rules, so i am going to stop here, but if you ask me the reason why that comment about his life was posted, the reason why that person didn't care if he lived or died, was because for the most part, he doesn't seem to care either so why should we.
And yet here you are, chiming in on something you despise, offering no real insight, just blatant criticism. Because him and his cohorts engage in stunts and other practical japes doesn't mean they don't care about their health or their lives. Sure, the some stunts are dangerous, but when they are, they have medics on scene, regardless of how the programmes portray the circumstances. People adding ridiculous comments that add NOTHING to the article is just ridiculously counter-productive, and even if your personal views mesh very nicely with those expressed in such comments, your integrity should prevent you from letting them sit in the article. Dave420 01:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry, some of the third set of comments were really out of line, so i removed them. Seems that Steve-o struggled with bipolar disorder and multiple drug dependencies, per his own admission. So, I think its rather amazing we still have him around to praise or beat up. dual diagnosis is no effing joke.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:34, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Main Photo

Being that he's been clean and sober for two years, I don't think the candid photo of him with a beer is the most accurate representation of him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.182.134.94 (talk) 16:43, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

I agree. Someone should change it, it is kind of disrespectful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.125.82.73 (talk) 08:25, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

while we arent here to either disparage or celebrate people, i think that a second image, taken post etoh use, would help balance the article, esp. if it shows him "out of character" . his history as a publicly admitted addict is documented, so having the photo is not a problem per se. I have the same emotional response to the image, but if he is in recovery, as long as we are trying to fairly portray him here, our actions are NOT responsible for his self respect or his sobriety, which is his responsibility. Just dont offer him a beer when you see him, unless you know he likes that sort of humor:)Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:41, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Fine - change the entire article to show him in todays light, without all the crap of yesteryear. Show us that he has grown up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.245.164.83 (talk) 03:21, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Grammar fail

His family was based in England for many years due to his father's presidency of the South American division of Pepsi-Cola. During his childhood he lived in a number of countries, including Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, and Uganda, where he spent two years before returning to the United States.[5]

How does one return to a country they have not been to before? --95.144.114.154 (talk) 19:26, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

A Few Issues

His name is listed as Steve Gilchrist Glover, yet later in Career: Jackass and tours (2000-2003) it says, "On July 31, 2002, Stephen H.Glover was arrested on obscenity and assault charges...".

So which is it?

Additionally, in the section entitled Post-rehab, Jackass reprised and comedy tours (2009–2012), the section reads chronologically, starting with March 2009 and proceeding to May 2009. The next paragraph ends with, "Then in January 2009, Steve-O announced...". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.247.2.112 (talk) 05:12, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

"Deadly misconduct"

Is that even a thing? "he would be charged for deadly misconduct when he did a backflip into the San Antonio River from a bridge" - I googled "deadly misconduct", and the results on the first pages just relate to Steve-O. Is it a made-up offense? Should be further explained or removed from the article. Best regards, IP92.231.216.50 (talk) 14:41, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

New Information

Hello fellow Wikipedians! I plan on adding a controversy section to Steve-O's life. I also may talk more about his recovery from substance abuse, and how his recovery has become a huge success story for others struggling with the same problems. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patel4ah (talkcontribs) 01:31, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Edits

Hey! My addition to the Steve-O page was taken out. Can anybody let me know why this happened? I did my research on Steve-O quite a bit — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patel4ah (talkcontribs) 14:59, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

No longer vegan

Steve-O recently came out on social media as eating fish which does not make him vegan anymore but rather pescetarian. So more like a vegan-pescetarian.

There are 3 points in the wikipedia page in which him being vegan is referenced so this should be fixed up. Or at least his views on fish should be clarified even if he may still claim to be vegan.

Heart condition on loveline

I changed around the end of the heart condition portion. Steve-O was laughing about his condition, he later claimed the laughter could be a defense mechanism, and he was taking it seriously.

I added a section specifically for this, more references would be useful. Has it be discussed anywhere else? -- Craigtalbert

Specific Reasons for Quality Standards / Clean-up Notice?

Was there anything specifically that was the cause of the notice or was it just a result of the general disorganization of the article and lack of citations? -- Craigtalbert

New Article

The article Steve-O is in ES too, somebody can add it?

Mental Stability

Should it be acknowledged that he is now in a mental ward? Here is the source "http://www2.kerrang.com/2008/07/jackass_star_checks_into_menta.html" --Turkeybathwater (talk) 16:41, 8 July 2008 (BST)

Not a vegan

On 20 November [1], Sahaib3005 removed a reference which states Steve-O gave up veganism to become a pescatarian. The edit summary given was "Removing original research. The article does not mention he has become a pescetarian", this is false. The reference says "The 44-year-old slammed vegans for hounding him over the past few months after he announced in December that he was actually pescetarian and not vegan, as many had thought." The article also quotes Steve-O as saying "even though I haven't eaten any meat other than fish for well over ten years". This is not original research. The reference can be found here [2].

There are other references that clarify this, i.e. [3], [4], [5]. If you do deeper research and look into this you can find tweets from Steve-O himself from 2015 - 2017 admitting he eats fish and eggs on his Twitter account. It is likely he was never a vegan and he always ate fish but the reliable references indicate he is now a pescatarian so these references should not be removed.
