Please note: This article conflates the person with the company that bears his name. actual hometown[edit]

Contrary to the Daily News Article used as the lone reference, I'm pretty certain Steve Madden came from neighboring Cedarhurst, not Lawrence. I know that his first shop was there, though it no longer exists I don't think (closed down a few years ago). And this article needs expansion too.
