Notability[edit]

It is difficult to believe Ansell's notability is being questioned. Principal violist of the Boston Symphony, soloist multiple times with the Boston Symphony, founding member of the Muir String Quartet, which has toured worldwide and released major-label CDs, winner of a Grammy and a Grand Prix du Disque. A search for "Steven Ansell" in the Boston Globe archives yields 66 results. The Globe, a mainstream publication esteemed worldwide, is the primary paper serving Boston and its metro area. A search for "Steven Ansell" on the New York Times site gets eight results. These include numerous full reviews (not merely concert announcements). Material in secondary sources is plentiful; editors wishing to add citations may take their pick.

It is an abundantly well-documented fact that as an orchestral principal, as a soloist, as a chamber musician, and as a teacher, Ansell is one of the world's leading violists. Emoll (talk) 19:51, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
