Which Club?[edit]

Enough edit warring. Would someone please explain here what's going on with his club status amd provide a current ref? Lets settle on one version, and any unreferenced change from that can then be immediately reverted. In the last few days his current club has been variously listed as: Rangers, Everton, Celtic, None, and Free Agent (presumably the same as None). I don't know who he plays for and I don't care. Any more changes without discussion and I will ask for protection on this page. Meters (talk) 19:47, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored his status to "Free agent" per the most recent source I can find (June 30). I have added a citation to that ref. Please do not change this until there is a more recent reference to show he has signed with a club. Meters (talk) 19:39, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We now have additions with citations (dated today) showing he has signed with Everton. I'll ask that the semi protection be removed. Meters (talk) 16:34, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 3 July 2012[edit]

This football player is currently a "Free Agent" and does not play for the football club "Everton" so I wish this to be changed please, It even says in the side bar that he is a Free Agent, But someone believes other wise.

I don't see any place where the article says he currently plays for Everton. Please point out the specific location. Meters (talk) 23:07, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Found and changed. Thanks. Meters (talk) 23:15, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tribunal to determine Naismith fee[edit]

Should we mention it now or await the outcome? BadSynergy (talk) 04:13, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request regarding Rangers "the club" being liquidated[edit]

There was no transfer fee involved as the player had refused to have his contract transferred from the old to the new company controlling Rangers as the club was liquidated.[73]

This statement taken from the Guardian is misleading, as the club was not and will not be liquidated. -> Rangers FC

Not even the former company running the club has as of this date been liquidated, as can be verified easily enough -> Rangers Football Club plc Naismith did not sign up for Rangers FC's new owners, consequently became a free agent and signed for Everton. I don't think this page is protected. Did you try making the edit? Meters (talk) 02:22, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I think we ought to wait for a reliable secondary source. Shouldn't be long before EDP report it. --Dweller (talk) 16:13, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

One of the twitter accounts said now that he is currently signing which means it is not a hundred percent completed (although he will join). Lets wait for official confirmation. Qed237 (talk) 16:35, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Done. [1] I'll make the amend now. --Dweller (talk) 16:47, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Steven Naismith[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Steven Naismith's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
