(January 2018) Edit warring and repeated deletion of references by article creator[edit]

BoogerD is showing WP:OWNership of this article by deleting and denying the placement in to the prose of UK government sources for a UK-registered Ltd company (=LLC).

There is no requirement for References to be shown in the lead section, but they can be added including into infobox - please quote the policy supporting your claims of "General policy is to keep citations out of leads."

For posterity the references are are:

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.[1]

Miles Ketley and Wayne Garvie.[2][3]

Additionally I can show the following UK director listings for Wayne Garvie.[4]

AFAIK, there is no restriction on individuals having other directorships/ business involvements (they are self-employed as consultants, not as employees per se) in other countries where that country's own commercial law applies.

BoogerD and other editors are reminded that only an administrator can remove Talk page content (or the adding-editor themselves).-Semperito (talk) 12:48, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm. My intention was never to start an "edit war" (and I don't know that it had risen to that level at this point) or claim ownership over an article. I certainly believe in Wikipedia's mission to create an encyclopedic compendium that anyone can access and anyone can contribute too. I've been editing here and there on Wikipedia for around 11 years and I'm still learning everyday. I am truly sorry to have rubbed you the wrong way. Honestly, it when it comes to disagreements with other users with accounts I generally defer to their judgement (I log in on here for fun and relaxation, not for any added stress). So, in this instance I again will defer to the judgement of someone like you, Semperito. I did not expect this to escalate to this level and I apologize for my part in it. I hope the both of can go about our way and continue to improve this site. Maybe in the future we can work together to make pages better written more strongly referenced. I will certainly do my part to be part of more constructive discussions. Have a nice day, BoogerD (talk) 19:52, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your message and kind words BoogerD. I have voluntarily taken a short Wiki-break for a couple of days. I had been having difficulties with an editor trying to control me and repeatedly - three times - reverting what I had established in October, then expanded in the good interests of readership at large recently. I already knew/know the content, so I was not writing it for myself. This editor had/has been trying to assert that UK sources were/are unacceptable, without any significant evidence except for supposition when self-comparing to other publications.

So when you twice reverted without edit summaries what I wrote for the readership, then naturally the same situation was prominent in my mind. I also have an ongoing situation with what I suspect is an actor repeatedly writing about himself, for which I have been maligned by an admin as a meglomaniac, so will not be wasting any more of my valuable time on that or the actor's article.

I agree that editing WP should be not just stress-less, but a pleasure. You'll have noticed I had not changed the lead as previously. The 'extra' reference above #4 I added to Wayne Garvie's page (where there were several refs already in the lead) as it's banner-flagged from 2012 for refimprove, and have been picked up on it by the same admin. Again I know the content, its for the benefit other readers, so if it's deleted as unacceptable under WP:BLPPRIMARY then that's fine.

I am only an occasional editor and can step away anytime, so have decided to remove this article from my small Watchlist, so please swing by periodically.

I had no idea what 'booger' meant until Googling, but as it had reminded me of Ray Stevens' The Streak I watched it on youtube (I don't understand "boogity", either); I learn a lot of words (and sometimes forget again) recently 'doobie', although I remember the band from the early 1970s, I just thought it was part of the band's name, like Steely Dan.
