Requested move[edit]

The result of the move request was: pages moved. It's unanimous that the DAB and song should both be moved, and there's a rough consensus that the preferred new title for the song is as originally proposed. Andrewa (talk) 07:34, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

– If there's a primary topic it'd be Bert Parks' 1948 radio/TV show. The NZ DJ was No.1 in NZ in 2004, but outside New Zealand doesn't seem more notable than the Shirelles etc. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:11, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Note and Scribe removed from nom. In ictu oculi (talk)
Also fine. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:09, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support in principle, but since there's no article on any other songs, I don't see why not to move it to Stop the Music (song). I like full disambiguation as much as the next guy, but not necessarily preemptive full disambiguation. Obviously I support the move of the disambiguation page to the base title. I've also put a "see also" link to Don't Stop the Music. Red Slash 01:51, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Again, since there's no article on any other songs... Red Slash 05:34, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Again, "there's no article" is an argument counter to WP:DAB and WP:AT. Stop The Music (The Pipettes song) redirects to content on the single in the album article. I've also created a redirect for Stop The Music (The Hitmakers song) since it was their best known song. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:28, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose the proposed title; support moving to Stop the Music (song). The proposed title is unweildy and unnecessary to distinguish the article from others titled "Stop the Music". However, the song is clearly not the primary topic of the title "Stop the Music" so some move is necessary.--Cúchullain t/c 17:23, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Stop the Music (song) per Cuchullain. --BDD (talk) 19:48, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
BDD, what benefit is there to anyone from hiding the name of the artist? This isn't the only (song) on en.wikipedia, so why title the article as if it is? Who benefits from this? In ictu oculi (talk) 10:36, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This is the only (song) (of this name) on en.wikipedia, so why title the article as if it is not? --BDD (talk) 20:32, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Anybody looking for the P-Money song will find it quickly and anybody looking for any other song will be put out of their misery much quicker. Even those looking for any songs called, "Stop the Music" will find a nice disambiguation page to help them. That's a win-win situation in my book. When Everest is a redirect, I can't understand why there is so much argument over song titles - most people are looking for a song by a certain artist. --Richhoncho (talk) 08:12, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as nominated (i.e. Stop the Music (P-Money song)) per Richhoncho. At least one similarly-named song has a redirect, and may turn out to be notable. When we are dismabihauting anyway, the slighly more verbose redirect will avoid ambiguity and save work for editors and readers. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:30, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as nominated (i.e. Stop the Music (P-Money song)) per BrownHairedGirl. Given that similiarly named songs exist as redirects already, we might as well change the article title to the more precise form now, to save the trouble of disambiguating later. • Most pop music is ephemeral. After a while Stop the Music (P-Money song) won't be any more noteworthy than most other old pop music songs. I have seen thousands of pop music sensations come and go. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 17:18, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
