Someone who doesn't like Harold Brodkey had a hand in all the various posts about him and his work, and the animus shows. Referring to his "much-heralded but ultimately disappointing first novel The Runaway Soul" and saying that "At the time of its publication, and subsequenly, the work has been dismissed as arch and precious" (source?) seems inappropriate.

The assertion that "much of the material that would make up The Runaway Soul in fact appeared in short story form in Stories in an Almost Classical Mode" is incorrect (there was no overlap over material in the two books). Can somebody revise this?

I couldn't with the above comment more. I don't feel qualified to edit this, but somebody who's up on Brodkey should do so. Who dismissed this collection as arch and precious? Personally, I love Brodkey and was deeply moved by this collection. I don't think this entry is fair or accurate.
