Indian base diplomacy

This constitutes part of India's efforts to provide military aid to Indian Ocean Region (IOR) countries to counter China's inroads into the region. Seems to be a pearl stringing race going on. Hcobb (talk) 21:32, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

It also says, “India, incidentally, has also stepped up the visits of its warships to the region to help in anti-piracy operations.” Mrt3366 (Talk page?) (New section?) 20:15, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Should be String of Pearls (India)

Some of the sources say that the Indians named a possibly unconnected series of Chinese actions the String of Pearls so the term is at much Indian as Chinese. (Whom seem to have never used the term.) Hcobb (talk) 17:12, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

It was actually an American analyst who came up with the term, but what you're saying is valid: the term is really only used by western analysts and Indian media. It has never been an official strategy of the Chinese government. Yi Ding (talk) 01:54, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
