Viols, really?[edit]

The article mentions viols and the viol family of instruments several times, but I suspect that what is meant is the violin family of instruments, given that the viol or viola da gamba is a historical instrument, and only very few of these have been produced in the 20th century. For lists of instruments belonging to these two families, see Bowed string instrument. When the article mentions viol makers, I guess it intends to refer to those luthiers who made bowed string instruments. Is there an English word for that?

Overall, I think the article would benefit from an overview of the pre-war Schönbach scene of musical instrument makers. Its fame is implied but not expressed yet. --Thüringer ☼ (talk) 09:32, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Viols[edit]

Hopefully all references to Viols have been found and changed. They should, as OP pointed out, be refering to violins. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TherealJPO (talkcontribs) 10:59, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
