File:Studentscirclesmall.PNG Nominated for Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Studentscirclesmall.PNG, has been nominated for deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: The organization appears to be defunct. It was probably never a notable organization. It has passed with barely a ripple. This page has not been tended by anyone knowledgeable of its fate and so gives the false impression that the organization is still in operation. Deletion requests May 2011
What should I do?
A discussion will now take place over on Commons about whether to remove the file. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

OCW membership[edit]

The OCW membership page linked from the introduction was blank so I removed the link. Is SCN still an OCW member? Jojalozzo 04:13, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This Organization Appears To Be Defunct[edit]

The main link for this organization is dead at present, June 8, 2013. A brief survey of information available on the Internet reveals little evidence that an institution of any depth ever existed. Some search results on Youtube have the character of elevator pitches. Evidence of a current relationship with the OpenCourseWare Consortium is also lacking. Students Circle Network is not listed as a Consortium member. Apparently, Students Circle Network did once offer a number of classes through the Consortium, but many, and probably all, of the links are dead. Some puff pieces about the founder, Gospel Ukanwoke, suggest that he mounted an effort to give the impression that Students Circle Network, the home-grown brainchild of an IT student, was a resounding success with users numbering in the tens of thousands. I found no concrete evidence of extensive usership. The organization's claim to be a vital gateway to OpenCourseWare materials seems dubious. Possibly this organization was a legitimate effort, but described in exaggerated terms. In any event, it appears no longer to be in operation. Probably this page should be taken down.Thomasbhiggins (talk) 16:49, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
