EA-82 Production Dates[edit]

The EA-82 was in fact produced starting in 1982. The EA82 bodied cars was available in Japan starting in 1982.

Followup[edit]

That site mentions nothing of the sort. Checked all of my books and date is still confirmed at 1985 for the intro of the EA82, and 1984 for the JDM L-Series and Alcyone which used the engine. Please clear up if you have a different source. Sixthstar (talk) 22:13, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would seem that the EA82 was introduced in 1984, as it was used in the third gen Leone from its introduction.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 17:06, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

EA/ER articles merger[edit]

Why are these two separate? The ER is just a six-cylindered EA-82 that's produced in small numbers. Ryou Hashimoto (talk) 07:55, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because the ER is an ER engine and the EA is an EA engine. The ER engine has only a single displacement in the family and it is not an EA engine. Just because it shares a common bore and stroke with the EA does not imply it is the same engine, if Subaru felt this was the case they would have called it an EA engine. There are many distinctive differences between the two, you can compare parts side by side and they are very different. I have more information to add to this page over time such that it should warrant having its own page. Talasas (talk) 12:40, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I too, think that they should be merged - they are after all closely related, in spite of obvious differences. And I welcome your adding more materials, whichever page the ER ends up on.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 16:59, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
