"Incomprehensible Material"?[edit]

The article is fully cited. A more nuanced reason is required for its extreme condensation. kencf0618 (talk) 10:27, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Feel free to reword that information for wiki-voice. I noticed that at least one of the sources was a blogspot page, which is not a RS. And most of the content I removed violated WP:PUFFERY. Sourcing facts from music reviews is tricky, because they essentially opinion pieces. And please don’t re-insert any drivel about the “moodiness of the Boise sky.” KidAd (talk) 16:28, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kencf0618, Now that I'm on desktop, I can provide some more detail. I will use the December 2019 archive of the page, before I ever edited it, for reference. First, Discogs is not a reliable source because it relies on user-generated content. (See: here). Another source, "The Obelisk," appears to be an independent blog, as does "NANOBOT ROCK." Blogs are not RS because they are user-generated, per WP:USERGENERATED. The domain for Rootsboise.com also appears to be inactive, so that will not work as a source. Music reviews are certainly fair game in album/band articles, but opinions stated in them should not be copy-and-pasted in Wiki-voice. Material from music reviews can be used in "critical reception" sections, but should not be treated as universally-accepted facts. Local sources are fine to use in articles, but they are not enough to save an article from deletion – in my experience. Seeing as this page – even after my edits – is mostly sourced to local publications, I doubt it would survive an AfD. I hope that provided some insight. KidAd (talk) 17:21, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
