I think this page should be moved to Swedish Security Service. I doubt the SÄPO acronym is much used in an English language context. It isn't even the official Swedish name/acronym for the service. Of course, SÄPO should still be kept as a redirect. / Alarm 19:18, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I see no reason to object to your proposition. I used the Isotalo Bible, google.com, and it agreed with you. --Fred-Chess 20:20, July 18, 2005 (UTC)
Since there has been no objections whatsoever, I figure it's about time to move the page now. / Alarm 18:17, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
How exactly was this search performed? When I Google for the terms (for pages in English) SÄPO is twice as common. The number of hits for "Swedish Security Service" goes down quite a lot when adding "-wikipedia". Here are links to the searches:
+"Swedish Security Service" -wikipedia - 315 hits
+SÄPO -wikipedia -atogwan (the latter being first name of someone who actually has the last name "Säpo") - 843 hits
Some of the pages are in the SÄPO-search are actually in Swedish, though they don't seem to make up a significan amount of the hits. I frankly don't know which one is the most commonly used by, say, the CIA or MI5, though. Whatever they use should be the most relevant.

The official home of SÄPO -- www.securityservice.se -- titles the security service "Swedish Security Service" in their English version of the home page. Furthermore, the site address itself should tell this being likely to be the official English name, and their main e-mail is securityservice@securityservice.se. -- Northgrove 00:30, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
