Isn't the St. Bernard also a Swiss Mountain dog? Shouldn't it also be listed here?

While the St Bernard is Swiss and has its origins in the Alps, it isn't generally considered a Swiss Mountain Dog. It's more of a classification of genetics (the four SMD breeds are quite closely related) than of taking the name literally. --Pharaoh Hound(talk)(The Game) 11:58, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Both breeds are alleged to have descended from the same ancient type.
