I know of two earlier ones, though not by too many years: Sian Elias became Chief Justice in New Zealand in 1999, and Aloysia Cyanzaire became Chief Justice in Rwanda in 2003. --Delirium 09:20, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
