A quick web search indicates he is real. If you believe he is non-notable, or that this article sould be deleted according to other policy, take it to AfD. Please don't hijack this article to recreate your own article which was apparently already deleted twice. Tim Shuba 05:52, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The person is real. The article should be moved to "T. M. Soundararajan." The first two letters are initials. He is a very popular playback singer from Tamil Nadu. AfD not required. ɤіɡʍаɦɤʘʟʟ 22:01, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mukta Srinivasan: "Sonia Gandhi became emotional when TMS sang ``Ullam Urugudhaiya at the first anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi's death for which she had come down from Sriperumbudur. ``What do the lines mean, she asked. "My heart melts... she was told. She had just begun walking down the dais but stood transfixed and moved. "Such is the power of TMS's voice and his music.

Vali's Eulogy:" T. M. Soundararajan was one of the first to tell me to come to Chennai and try to make a name here, he said. Vali had written his lyrics (``Karpanai Endralum..., a devotional number on Lord Muruga which is popular even today) on just a post card and had sent it to TMS. "The popularity of the song was most unexpected".

My edits on May 27[edit]

The previous version had too many syntax, grammar and stylistic errors. I have made several changes to correct the errors that caught my eyes. But the article still has conflicting material and more redundant content. It is tiresome to make all the changes in a single edit. The content needs to be verified more thoroughly against the references cited. And the style and content must be cleaned up further. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KaNiJan2 (talkcontribs) 21:50, 26 May 2013 (UTC) My edits on May 27: andamaanaip paarunkal azaku was not sung by TMS. It was rendered by KJ Yesudas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.202.183.34 (talk) 07:22, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Many details not updated like TMS homage to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi eyes become wet when TMS a devotional song at Perumbhadhur during 1991 Balan Nair (talk) 05:48, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Meenatchi Iyengar (link 4) does not substantiate or corroborate this information!!!![edit]

"T. M. Soundararajan was born in a Sourashtra community in Madurai and was the second son of Meenatchi Iyengar.[4] He was born in a prominent prohitham family and his elder brother was a great vedic scholar."

None of the above information has any credible sources nor cites one that can validate the above statement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.63.200.170 (talk) 19:39, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TMS 2nd Son of Meenatchi Iyengar (4) is unsubstantiated and not validated. The reference '4' link provided takes the user to TMS image.

If he was born in saurasthra family. His name being Iyengar is confusing. Iyengars are non-saurashtrans. Also, Iyengars usually do not name themselves as meenatchi (Meenakshi?) who is a consort of Siva for Iyengars being Vaishnava (Worship Vishu) in their tradition.

Until this is corroborated The sentences 'TMS born as 2nd Son of Meenatchi Iyengar' should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.63.200.170 (talk) 19:37, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone explain why TMS was not awarded any of the civilian awards? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.193.111.196 (talk) 15:40, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Because he was a straight forward artist who never hesitated to tell the actual facts in front of anyone. However he was awarded Padmasree during 2003 Balan Nair (talk) 05:52, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
