Does this predate the film?

Is there a reliable source saying that the name of the film comes from this command? I always had that impression. Or is the film name just a shortening of "electronic"? -- Spireguy (talk) 03:55, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it is said in the 1982 film that tron was a debugging software that was looking into the MCP code. later versions of TRON made him into a antivirus system. while impossible to confirm the link it certainly follows conventional logic152.91.9.153 (talk) 05:18, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lisberger said it was from the word "electronic", here's one source of this, and haven't heard otherwise in the past 9 years http://tron.wikia.com/wiki/Steven_Lisberger — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.5.171.110 (talk) 05:13, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
