Proposal to Rename and Move Article to "Tanjungpandan"[edit]

I would like to suggest renaming the article as the correct spelling of the city is Tanjungpandan, not Tanjung Pandan. The latter would convey a different meaning, which can be verified by visiting the official website of the city or one of the official government city websites. Many cities in Sumatra use this type of toponymic naming convention, including Pekanbaru, Pangkalpinang, Tanjungpinang, Bukittinggi, and others. Badpuccini (talk) 02:30, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Badpuccini: Technically, tanjungpandan is not a city yet, it's a kecamatan (district). Anyway, refer to official website of tanjungpandan district, the spelling of the district is "Tanjung Pandan", not "Tanjungpandan". Ckfasdf (talk) 15:34, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ckfasdf: Please excuse my mistake in referring to the location as a city; it is, in fact, a 'kecamatan'. I believe that the website https://tanjungpandan.belitung.go.id/ may have made an error in spelling the town's name, as such sites are often created by third parties. To confirm the correct name of the town, it is best to refer to the official regional law transcript or 'Peraturaran Daerah' (Perda). The official transcripts [1], [2], and [3] all spell the town's name as Kecamatan 'Tanjungpandan'. Badpuccini (talk) 03:04, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Badpuccini: I am somewhat agree with your arguments. I also suggest to open up discussion on WP:INDONESIA to update naming convention Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Indonesia-related articles#Subdivisions to include the usage of official name in article titles.
