Not related to the Dominican Republic[edit]

How is this article related to the Dominican Republic? Bachata? Are all Gospel, Rap or Rock music article related to the US? Osplace 18:41, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This song's musical composition is composed of Bachata, a musical style from the Dominican Republic. While also being composed of Reggaeton. These two combined is known as Bachatón musical movements in both the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Bachatón originates from the Dominican Republic therefore relating this song with the Dominican Republic. Just like any other bachata song would be related to the Dominican Republic, this one is too. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 18:50, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You mean yes, I should tag every Rock, Pop, Gospel, Country, Blues whatever music genre comming from the US with the US tag or whatever article with music from one country, even anyone from this country is involved in a main way? No, you are wrong. I know Bachata comes from the Dominican Republic, I am aware of that but this is a silly reason to tag this article with the Dominican Republic. I wouldn't say tag every of those articles with a U.S tag, though this song is not only bachata but more importantly "Bachatón" originating from the Dominican Republic. I don't think your understanding. Bottom line, the song even features a bachata solo whit only bachata beats. I'm not understanding where you are coming from, why haven't you said something about untagging WikiProject Puerto Rico? Yes the artist and musical style reggaeton are related to Puerto Rico so why isn't that a concern? Any Romeo Santos song/album would be tagged with Dominican Republic. Why is that? Was the country involved "in a main way"? I didn't think so. They are related because of the musical composition, as with this song. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 19:13, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well if Osplace says it doesn't belong under WikiProject DR, then it there's no need to tag the banners. See WP:PROJGUIDE#OWN. Also, if we did tag bachata articles under WikiProject DR, we would also have to tag merengue artists who aren't Dominican as well. Erick (talk) 19:21, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Erick. Osplace 19:47, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
