Question[edit]

Starting this talk page --Yourdailywiki (talk) 07:44, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How can we get the "tagged" statements removed from this article. Added the information requested and should be in compliance now.--Yourdailywiki (talk) 19:07, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

References added, but there are other issues[edit]

The issue of references for this article is corrected by the 8 inline references now present. There are still no links to the article, and there may be some spelling or punctuation errors remaining. Other editors who know more about cycling or human powered vehicles may be able to improve the article, or comment on the notability issue. --DThomsen8 (talk) 15:03, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'll work on that.--Yourdailywiki (talk) 06:42, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I added at least 3 link-backs so far. Will try to find more. --Yourdailywiki (talk) 07:12, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The link-back on the RAAM article is good, but the reference there is a dead link. Check it out. --DThomsen8 (talk) 10:06, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. --Yourdailywiki (talk) 23:36, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Found two more articles for link-back to Team Strawberry for total of five now. --Yourdailywiki (talk) 19:36, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some feedback[edit]

Nice first(?) article! Here is some extra feedback, which might improve the article.

  • There appears to be some doubt on the notability of the article. Why is it important enough to be on wikipedia? Did the team won any important events? Do they have any world records? Were they in the news for some reason? You should make clear that the team is not just a minor team, but that it deserves a wikipedia article. It is best to do this by finding news articles about the team. Don't put it on the talk page here (you don't have to convince me), but put them in the article.
  • Is this article about Team Strawberry or about Race Across America? Half of the text appears to be about RAAM, so it should not be in this article.
  • You might include what happened to the team. The article now only says that it was founded in 1988 and competed in a 1989 race, and that it lasted two years. Did they compete in other races? Why did they disband?
  • Some references are not real references. For example: reference 7. It refers to the website [1]. But there is nothing in the text can be checked on that website, the website is more just an external link. Ideally, you would use it in an other way. For example:
The cross-country HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) RAAM was designed to be a platform for technology advancement in cycling aerodynamics and human powered propulsion.[example 1]

References[edit]

  1. ^ Source that shows that RAAM was indeed designed as such a platform and that you did not make it up.
  • Usually, the references are placed after the information that is sourced. Your reference 16 in the "Power Pacer — SRM — Max One"-section is the first thing in the section, so not properly placed.

Just some of the things I found. I hope it helps you! The first point is the most important, you should mention things that assure notability in the article. --EdgeNavidad (talk) 08:09, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Excelent. Very grateful for the feedback. I have a better perspective on the notability issue now. I'll work on those points above and report back here on my progress as I address each one.--Yourdailywiki (talk) 06:52, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Action taken: My last 10 edits focus on improving this. I did all sections.--Yourdailywiki (talk) 09:50, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Action taken: Added statements to that effect. --Yourdailywiki (talk) 08:18, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Action taken: The Team's participation in the Race Across America was key to the research on power measurement devices. Also the references to the Race Across America actually play an important part in showing notability, but I have diminish it where possible. --Yourdailywiki (talk) 19:49, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rating as Class C?[edit]

When can we agree that the rating of this article can be Class C rather than Start? There are far more inline references than when the article started (Start class then), and there are at least three links to this article in other relevant articles. --DThomsen8 (talk) 11:36, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There should now be five links to the article as of today. --Yourdailywiki (talk) 21:37, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed the rating to class C. --DThomsen8 (talk) 00:24, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
