Flags[edit]

Consensus in the cycling project is that cycling team nationalities are meaningless, as they are purely a technical thing, and the teams do not represent a country. I have removed the flags; if somebody wants to convince the project that nationalities should be added, please start a discussion there. With good arguments it is possible that consensus changes. classification done by time and points[edit]

As seen here, General team classification (general equipos in the source) was done both in time and points (fortunately, winners are the same). Why was that done? OK, but which was considered more prestigious? Why was that even done?? Sponsor conflict? Teams vs organiser conflict? Did they give the award to both, or did they split the award, or maybe give different awards?? If a team won both, did they get double award? The one based on time was more prestigious, and had more prize money.

It was done so one extra sponsor could be used, which meant more money for the organisation.

There were two separate awards. If a team won both, they won two awards.

Above information is based on memory, not on a reliable source that I can add in the article. Team Classification Victories in Team Member Articles[edit]

Since some teams focus on winning the Team Classification and individual team members work very hard to win this award, shouldn't winning the Team Classification be listed on each team members' biography page in their "Career Achievements" section and their "Major Wins" section? The team classification victory is sometimes listed in a rider's year by year career paragraphs, but it's very sporadic from one rider to the next and many rider articles don't include any mention that they were a member of a Team Classification winner during a particular Tour de France. All other team sports provide a listing of the team championship on each individual team members' biography pages. For instance, a Super Bowl victory, a World Series victory, a NBA Championship or an Olympic medal will be listed in the "Career Highlights" and/or "Medals" section on each team members' biography page. Since all other team sports championships are listed on individual team members' pages, shouldn't the Team Classification victory be listed on each team members' biography pages too?Deanbrook (talk) 03:10, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
