Stepchildren[edit]

Terese was not even created when Andrew and the triplets were around and has never shared significant scenes with them on-screen (and will never do so with Cameron). She has played no part in raising any of Paul's children on or off screen. Terese and Paige have at least been referred to as stepmother/daughter in various sources (example), they shared significant scenes/storylines, lived and worked together. This is not about real world legal definitions, this is about keeping the iboxes free of unnecessary information and trivia. If readers want to see who Terese is connected to via her marriage, they can click through to Paul's article and find the relevant information there. Also quoting from Template:Infobox soap character#Relationship parameters: Relations need only be noted if the relationship holds some notable significance for the character in question.

And per WP:SOAPS: For most characters, relatives listed should be limited to closer family and generations having some relevance to the character in question. Remember, more distant relations (step-great-grandchildren?) will be noted in the infoboxes of other characters more closely related to them. - JuneGloom07 Talk 01:03, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with June. That's pretty much the same with all these types of articles on Wikipedia. We don't go by what's legally correct because if we did that some of the infoboxes would be never-ending. JuneGloom07 has explained it really well. Why bother adding all of Paul's relatives if they have no real significance in Terese's storylines. As pointed out above, we only include those important to the character.. or atleast shared scenes with. This is not some fansite trivia page where you make endless fictional family trees.Rain the 1 08:31, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

While in principle I agree with this, I've re-added Roxy and Harlow as other relatives due to their very substantial on-screen familial relationships with Terese. As this discussion raises, on-screen relationships are what's important, not in-universe blood ties; that can cut both ways. U-Mos (talk) 22:46, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And by the same token, I've removed Roxy from Brad Willis (Neighbours)'s infobox - she's never met her uncle on-screen, the relationship of notable significance being with Terese instead. Harlow is perhaps more debatable (though I'd say Terese's role in her upbringing clinches it), but Roxy should certainly be listed. U-Mos (talk) 22:51, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
